aerobic exercise, measuring heart rate, strength training, stretching, warming
up and cooling down will be addressed. Students will begin their exercising
program at a low-intensity level and will begin submitting a PE log to their
instructor. Following this introduction, a variety of topics will be covered
some of which include exercise and health, diet, sports history and a personal
investigation into a sport or physical activity that each student has an interest
in.

Description:
If you are interested in taking PE200 next year, you must be dedicated and determined, be able to download fairly large files from the online class, be able to commit one hour minimum to workouts, have access to a pull-up bar of some kind (I made my own in the basement), purchase or have regular access to elastic resistance bands or dumbells, and have successfully completed PE100 from NorthStar.

Description:
Health takes a look at the areas of self-awareness, relationships,
well-being, careers, independent living and human sexuality. All of this is
done through a Biblical perspective as students are presented with information
in these areas along with activities, group discussions, simulations, case
studies and projects to make this information applicable to their lives. Health
class should help prepare students with the tools needed to live a truly ‘healthy’ life.
